Bring the promises in your Slack conversations into view.
tideline is a private iPhone app that helps you review what you promised, what others promised, and what still needs follow-through. Its Slack connection is read-only and acts only with the installing user's access.
Install from this page. Choose a workspace and approve Tideline's read-only access. After Slack confirms installation, open tideline on your iPhone to finish the private device connection. Review our Privacy Policy before installing.
- tideline searches Slack only when you initiate a search or enable a sync.
- Slack returns matching messages and limited context that you are already permitted to access.
- Apple's on-device Foundation Model proposes commitments, decisions, questions, and tasks.
- You review every proposed item before relying on it as durable memory.
Connect Slack from tideline
The Marketplace installation and your private iPhone connection are completed in sequence. No Slack password or access token is entered on this website or pasted into tideline.
- Select Add to Slack above, choose a workspace, review the permissions, and choose Allow.
- After the confirmation page appears, open tideline on a supported iPhone and activate tideline Pro.
- Open Sources, choose Connect Slack, and select the workspace you installed.
- Complete the secure in-app OAuth 2.1 authorization. The PKCE-protected flow returns you to tideline and stores the resulting personal token in the iOS Keychain.
- Run a sync or use Ask to search that workspace. Connect additional workspaces by repeating these steps.
If you need access to the current iOS build or have trouble connecting, email [email protected]. We respond within two business days.
What tideline can and cannot do
- Can: search messages in public channels, private channels the installing user belongs to, direct messages, and group direct messages; then save selected matching context locally in tideline.
- Cannot: post or edit messages, react, create or join channels, invite people, delete Slack content, monitor other users, or access conversations the installing user cannot access.
- Does not: browse or bulk-export a workspace, read Slack email addresses, train any model on Slack data, sell Slack data, or share one user's Slack authorization with another person.
Why Slack asks for these permissions
- Public-channel search finds relevant messages in public Slack content.
- Private-channel search finds relevant messages only in private channels the installing user already belongs to.
- Direct-message search finds relevant messages in the installing user's one-to-one and group direct messages.
These four granular search permissions act as the installing user and do not expand what that person can see in Slack. tideline does not request profile, email, file, canvas, message-history, reaction, channel-management, or write access.
Slack data and AI
Slack search requests go from your iPhone to Slack's official remote MCP service. Matching content is returned to your device. tideline does not operate a content server in that path.
- Processing: extraction and ranking use Apple's Foundation Models on your device.
- Storage: imported source excerpts and items you keep are stored in the app's local library on your device.
- Retention: local items remain until you delete them. Disconnecting the final Slack workspace removes credentials and unconfirmed Slack suggestions; confirmed items remain until you delete them.
- Credentials: OAuth access and refresh tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain and sent only to Slack in authorization headers.
- Training: Slack data is never used to train a large language model or any other model.
tideline may misunderstand a speaker, responsibility, date, or meaning. Its summaries and extracted items are suggestions, not authoritative records. Review the source excerpt before relying on an AI-generated item.
Disconnect or delete
In tideline, open Sources, use the menu beside the connected workspace, and choose Disconnect. You can also revoke tideline from Slack's connected-app settings. For complete local deletion instructions, see Delete your data.
Pricing and support
The Slack integration is included with tideline Pro. Subscription pricing is shown in the app before purchase and on the tideline pricing page.
